Stand up to your Challenge

I am happy to be here today. I am the most happiest person, whenever I stand up to teach. Hope you are following this class and you are gaining one thing or the other from this class. Your comment, criticism, praise, blame are welcome. I also accept all blame for any error you can spot.

We are still on Self Reliance an Essay by American foremost philosophers and an easiest Ralph Waldo Emerson. Many people will prefer American Visa to wisdom that built America. Some will prefer the Gold and Silver than the wonderful lamp that is producing it, because it is old and dirty. Friend Wisdom is the principal thing in all your getting get understanding. We must learn to seek light in all dark areas of our life.

Emerson is still our guide in our journey to Self Reliance let us here what he has to tell us today:

"And we are now men, and must accept in the highest mind the same transcendent destiny; and not minors and invalids in a protected corner, not cowards fleeing before a revolution, and advancing on Chaos and the Dark".

We must stand up as men, to face all challenges that will come our ways. Perish the thought that you will not go through hardship, temptations, trials, lack of one thing or the other loss of job, love ones and what have you, even the rich also cries, In fact the world we live in now is getting more tougher by the day. Man is born into trouble says the old poet and Emmanuel the prince says, in the world you will face tribulation and trials.

Friends what are you suppose to do when you face a difficult situation, cry, raise your hand up in surrender, fret, run away or what?  Emerson will also guide us here you must face the situation, you must stand your ground, you must fight with everything that is within you. You must turn things around for the better. There is a great power within you like Emerson  told us yesterday:

"The power which resides in him is new in nature, and none but he knows what that is which he can do, nor does he know until he has tried."

There is a great power within you, call the power out in all your challenges, remember that apart from the muscular power that is visible. you still have spiritual power that you can call upon in the time of trouble, you also possess the power of the soul that you can muster to fight your way through to victory. You are not to run in the day of battle you must fight. You must fight for your economic survival, don't wait for life to happen to you don't wait for your government, do not depend on nobody. think of what you can do for yourself and your nation.

I will not like to take too much of your time. I leave you to meditate on my little talk.I will like to conclude with the word of Obama in his inaugural address:

"America. In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations".
