What I learnt From the World Cup
Football is in the air, the whole world is in South Africa with their team, coaches and fans, I also missed the world cup by chance. With various matches features. As a teacher I look for wisdom and opportunities in all event, when I watch the German machine crushing Australia team four zero, it really amazed me. Within ninety minutes given equal opportunities, eleven men each on a side of a dividing line. While will one side thrash the other so mercilessly. That got me thinking and I came up with five reasons why it is so.
1.
Ski Skill
2. Training
3. Coach
4. Opportunity
5. Time
This scenario daily playing out in our life and countries of the world, Why will two people living within the same economy, having the same education one is down, broke and totally grounded. While the other fellow is blossoming, having more than enough for himself and for the people around him.
A country with a population of more than one hundred and fifty million with abundance of natural resources could not afford to feed her population. Though with millions of arable land depend on another country without land and fewer people. It still boils down to the same thing:
SKILL
It is the ability to do thing well, it is gained through training which comes through repetition which is the mother of skill, it come in various form, technical, communication, people, leadership. It is required in all human endeavors. It is indispensable even in the most menial of all human work. It is skill that differentiates between the professional and artisan. It places a premium of our earning capabilities. A skilled cleaner is different from a raw cleaner.
We must strive to acquire the required skill of our craft and thereafter hone the skill daily until we become a master and grandmaster of what we do, be it football, be it teaching like I am doing here. Skills do not fall on people like the anointing neither are we born with skill. It is acquired through a long period of persistence training like all the countries train persistently for the world cup. Some have to relocate to some other nation that has the same weather condition like South Africa. They also get engaged in so many friendly matches to test their skill before the actual match. We must do everything humanly possible to get better on anything we do.
TRANING
When you listen to Bob Marley signing is classical song One love for two minutes fifty seconds you feel exhilarated behind those small minutes are many hours of training, in the night, morning and afternoon. Talent they say is not enough, it is training that turn skills into treasure. It is goals scored during training that get scored in life matches, it is the corner kick, practiced in training that gets converted during matched.
In all of us are bone and muscle, but some of us cannot play any football not because we are incapable but our bodies has not being subjected to enough training that can sustain us as a football star. In all we do, we must make room for training and it must be daily, lest we allow what we have acquired slip out of our hand.
Training brings out the best in people, often time when we confront a challenge and fail, it is not that the opponent is too tough but our training is not enough to match the dexterity of the opponent. We must drill ourselves until we become the best at whatever we do, we must come on top and become the grandmaster and guru of our vocation be it career or business. We must seek daily improvement and light on our job.
COACH
No team can excel without a coach, a coach is somebody who has seen it all, an ex international who know the in and out of the business, be it sport, business, teaching, cleaning, success, prosperity or anything we are driving at. A good coach has seen it all. And he can instruct about the pit fall, what to do what not to do, tactic, ability to read the market and the matches ability to determine the slightest movement of the market, he must be dynamic. A coach must be at the top of his profession. We often erroneously believe that it is only sport that need coaches to come out at best, friend we have leaved in that error for long.
To do well in any field of endeavor require the service of a good coach. We all need mentor or else we will continue to grope in darkness. A coach will cut our learning curve by fifty percent; a coach will save you time and money. He will tell you what work instead of trials and error. You need a good coach to make it in life. If you cannot afford one, select one and buy into their instruction inform of books, tapes and consult them in your mind through questioning. Ask yourself what will my coach will say on this? listen to your mind you will get an answer.
OPPORTUNITY
Opportunity are period when preparation meet with chance, we cried often he wasted the chance that is opportunity and so many of them are wasted because there are no adequate preparation. We imagine if it is Rolnado that got that chance he will score the goal. Why do we think like that, what is the difference between him and our player, it is not farfetched it is what we have being discussing it is skill, it is training, it is the coach. We must be prepared like the Scouting motto for our opportunity, we must utilize our opportunity when they come or else we miss them forever. If we do not see opportunity on our way we can create it as one adage says We will either find way or create one.
TIME
Remember it is just ninety minute with a little extra time any goal that is not scored within that period is gone forever you cannot go back again and scored after the final blow of the whistle. After the cotton of the day is drawn you cannot go back to yesterday and scored the goal again. Friends Nigerian cannot go back to meet Greece again, In this world Cup tournament. Once the month is gone you cannot go back to January to work. What we have is the NOW. We must strive to make now the better. We must put all we are into our day. We must invest every second of our life so that we would not rise up with gray hair regretting our life. Remember the nursery rhyme that end with “what you have to do, do quick”. Let us also mind the details doing the little thing right all the time will also help our esteem don’t dream of conquering the world in a day, have a long time plan and work your plan consistently. Five year plan, ten year plan will go a long way to help you realize much more.
In conclusion let us continue to watch the world cup matches and continue to learn new things daily from the opportunities the world cup offers. Remember the next one will be in the next four year why not have a goal of attending the next one. It is possible

Concluding Our Class on Self Reliance
Friends it has not being very easy for me to combine so many teaching responsibilities with this class. So many opportunities to shine my little light to the darkness of the ignorance of our world. But I cannot afford to leave my virtual class alone also. Kindly bear with me if my consistence has being sagging.
It is a new month and I will love to welcome you to the month of June How time flies, we Just shouted happy new year five months ago and before you know the hand of the clock has ticked millions of seconds within a very short time. We are going to conclude Emerson Essay today and we shall move to another interesting great teacher who I will introduce in the next class.
The soul is no traveller; the wise man stays at home, and when his necessities, his duties, on any occasion call him from his house, or into foreign lands, he is at home still, and shall make men sensible by the expression of his countenance, that he goes the missionary of wisdom and virtue, and visits cities and men like a sovereign, and not like an interloper or a valet.
Many of us believed that there are no opportunities were the nature has created us. Many of us in the third world believed that our salvation is in the United State of America, United Kingdom, France, Canada, South Africa and so many other countries with hard currency better than our own countries. That is why the embassies of these countries are like Mecca and Medina daily. I heard sometimes ago that people get to embassies at ungodly hour to make sure they get in in time to the embassies for Visas. Some of these great souls are even maltreated called names by embassies staffs, so many people have their paper dump on them why because they want to travel out of where nature in her wisdom has planted them. I even learnt that some embassies are declaring profit at the end of a financial year.
But Emerson has a contrary opinion Wise men stays at home. They stay at home and turn their environment around to what suit them, they turned thorn and thistle to beauty, they wrestle their landscape away from nature and turn it to a beautiful garden. They turn darkness and ignorance to light and make it more beautiful to behold.
We are created here and not there. Nature is not at fault for rooting us here. It is here we are going to prosper and blossom. It is here we are going to shine our light, We may have cause to go their to learn and impart our knowledge if so desire but here is home and here we are going to make it. It made me remember one other philosopher Elbert Hubbard whom I have mush respect for he said and quote
"If you stay at home and do your work well enough, the world will come to you" and the world is coming to some of us even to steal the best brain away from us knowingly and subtly. In the name of diversity Visa Lottery. Elbert said further "that a man is a fool to chase a woman, because if he doesn't the women will chase after him" The time you use in chasing women about if utilized very well will turn you into a celebrity. name a man that is a celebrity and is not being flocked by women.
Class I am appealing to you to read Emerson very well and imbibe his philosophy they will greatly help you in your journey through life. I will conclude with Emerson quote
" Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door"

Have you ever imagined the work of a driver in a bus? Turning the steering
wheel, engaging the gears, ensuring smooth movement of the vehicle, the
task is essentially the same for a pilot and a sea captain. Smooth journey, sail
and air safety point to the same goal of efficient and effective movement
from place to place and safety of lives and properties. Can you now imagine
a fast speeding bus, train, ship or plane without a driver? What comes to
your mind? Accident, disaster, loss of lives and properties. The same is true
of a life that is not taken control of; such a life is heading to no where but
disaster.
We must learn to take control of our life, of our destiny. We must utilize
every resources of nature within us to realize our dreams, our goals and
aspirations. We must learn to do one thing and that is to take personal
responsibility for how our life turns out. Often times, we gave the control of
our live to external people, we surrender our lives to them and when we fail
to live up to the expectation of our dreams, we blame those we surrender our
lives to, for their failure to realize our dreams for us. Citizens blame their
government for bad roads, lack of electricity, poor standard of education and
so on. Husbands blame their wives for their failure and bad luck, wives,
blame their husbands for promises of heaven on the earth that refuses to
materialize. Workers blame their employers for low wages and unfavorable
working environment, organization blame their staff and management for
low productivity and returns to stakeholders. Friends, we must learn to take
personal responsibility for our lives whether good, bad or ugly. We must be
ready to bear all the praises and the blame for our life.
Most people we depend upon for help also have a litany of their own
headaches. They do not have enough room on their heads to bear other
people’s headaches. It is your personal efforts that really count. Man is
designed to stretch himself by all means.
We live very close to nature and we could see that the elements are dynamic
and in constant motion, working around the nucleus and vibrating eternally,
working in harmony with the law of nature. Man, being part of the nature is
supposed to join the dynamic motion of the elements. If he can not fly, he
should run, if he cannot run he should walk, if he cannot walk, he should
crawl and if not, he should roll on the ground. The rule of the jungle is to
wake up and start running less we are consumed.
The law of nature recognizes not the weak; the weak are destined to
extinction. Life is about the survival of the fittest mentally, spiritually,
physically, financially economically and so on. Man, due to freedom of
choice and freewill, often choose the least path of resistance, he wants peace
and ease. We choose to believe contrary to the universal law and act
contrary to the law of nature itself. We act by the law of belief and hope that
some how, someway, through some mysterious and miraculous our goals
will be realized, our needs will be met. We erroneously believe the word of
the master out of context, that the bird of the air neither sow nor reap yet
your heavenly father feeds them, forgetting that the bird must leave its nest
and fly in search of food, locate the best field and watch out for stones and
other predators, before they can partake of the food provided by the master.
We have also forgotten that the intelligence that created our world worked
six days and night before resting on the seventh day.
Most of us believe that we do not have the right tools or the necessary
capital input to create or take charge of our lives. But nobody has capital to
start with in the first place. The capital you need is your brain that has
billions of active cells, your two hands and two legs. What capital did the
infinite intelligence have in creating the heaven and the earth? What capital
did the pilgrims have in creating the United States of America? What capital
did Henry Ford have in creating Ford Motor Company? In fact he was
working double shift in the morning with Edison Electrical Company and in
the night in his garage. What capital did Bill Gates have to create Microsoft?
Friend, nobody starts with capital. The only capital is you. All you need is
refinement. Refine your speaking and writing ability, become more
persuasive so that you can impress people to buy into your idea. Refine your
language, refine your intelligence. What capital do you need to refine
yourself? All you need is time, discipline, books, cassettes, tapes, teachers,
mentor, Pastor, Imam, Priest, Internet and so on.
You are the epitome of the creation, the envy of the celestial being, the
crown of the creation with a divine mandate to dominate. When I consider
what man has done, what he is still doing and the possibility of future
accomplishments, I marvel at possibilities in man. In the last century, man
has been able to travel to the moon thousands of Kilometers away into the
space, he has succeeded in placing countless satellites into the orbit that
beam telecommunication waves to the earth and weather satellites which
now forecast rainfall, sunshine humidity with precision. Man has been able
to shrink time through the internet, email, text messages, GSM and so on.
Man can now travel at a speed faster than sound. You can eat breakfast in
Lagos, Nigeria, Lunch in Heathrow, London and dinner in Tokyo, Japan.
Man has been able to harness the power that is in the atom both for good and
for evil. No wonder David Jesse said we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Friends, why are you crying, why are you fearful, if mere mortal men have
stepped on the surface of the moon, designed supersonic jet, conducted brain
surgery, then you are powerful beyond comprehension.
Having realized the stuff you are made of, it is high time we stand up and
take charge and take control of our lives, by taking personal responsibility
for our success and failure. We must know that things don’t just happen.
Remember Sir Isaac Newton’s Law of motion “Every object continues in a
state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line”. Are you static in one
place? Move to action; take a personal responsibility for your life thereby
starting a uniform motion in an up line direction. Not doing something
everyday means that you are in a state of rest. Let this message serve a law
of momentum to you, an external force acting on a stationary object, forcing
it into motion.
This can be simply done by having a purpose like Henry Ford whose
purpose is to make cars for the people from best possible materials at a
reasonable price which is affordable to all men, earning average wages. Like
Andrew Carnegie, the organizer of United Steel, whose major purpose is to
make money for the first part of his life and invest it in people for the second
part of his life, which he did. What is your own purpose, your dream, your
aspiration? Make a goal out of it, break down the goal to weekly, monthly
realizable goals and start working round the clock to achieve your goal.
Never wait or complain for lack of tools, for better tools will come your way
when you effectively and efficiently use the tools that you have at hand.
Remember that many people are in your shoes, who do not have the
opportunity that you have but with the little opportunity they had they are
self reliant today. For you to be able to read this write up means that you are
literate to a level. Some can neither read nor write but they have millions of
money at their disposal. With your own more than twenty years plus of
education you are still a weakling, needing help from your parents who have
fend for you for so long. It is time to severe that tie and launch into the
world by taking personal control and charge of your life.

contrary to the law of nature itself. We act by the law of belief and hope that
some how, someway, through some mysterious and miraculous our goals
will be realized, our needs will be met. We erroneously believe the word of
the master out of context, that the bird of the air neither sow nor reap yet
your heavenly father feeds them, forgetting that the bird must leave its nest
and fly in search of food, locate the best field and watch out for stones and
other predators, before they can partake of the food provided by the master.
We have also forgotten that the intelligence that created our world worked
six days and night before resting on the seventh day.
Most of us believe that we do not have the right tools or the necessary
capital input to create or take charge of our lives. But nobody has capital to
start with in the first place. The capital you need is your brain that has
billions of active cells, your two hands and two legs. What capital did the
infinite intelligence have in creating the heaven and the earth? What capital
did the pilgrims have in creating the United States of America? What capital
did Henry Ford have in creating Ford Motor Company? In fact he was
working double shift in the morning with Edison Electrical Company and in
the night in his garage. What capital did Bill Gates have to create Microsoft?
Friend, nobody starts with capital. The only capital is you. All you need is
refinement. Refine your speaking and writing ability, become more
persuasive so that you can impress people to buy into your idea. Refine your
language, refine your intelligence. What capital do you need to refine
yourself? All you need is time, discipline, books, cassettes, tapes, teachers,
mentor, Pastor, Imam, Priest, Internet and so on.
You are the epitome of the creation, the envy of the celestial being, the
crown of the creation with a divine mandate to dominate. When I consider
what man has done, what he is still doing and the possibility of future
accomplishments, I marvel at possibilities in man. In the last century, man
has been able to travel to the moon thousands of Kilometers away into the
space, he has succeeded in placing countless satellites into the orbit that
beam telecommunication waves to the earth and weather satellites which
now forecast rainfall, sunshine humidity with precision. Man has been able
to shrink time through the internet, email, text messages, GSM and so on.
Man can now travel at a speed faster than sound. You can eat breakfast in
Lagos, Nigeria, Lunch in Heathrow, London and dinner in Tokyo, Japan.
Man has been able to harness the power that is in the atom both for good and
for evil. No wonder David Jesse said we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Friends, why are you crying, why are you fearful, if mere mortal men have
stepped on the surface of the moon, designed supersonic jet, conducted brain
surgery, then you are powerful beyond comprehension.
Having realized the stuff you are made of, it is high time we stand up and
take charge and take control of our lives, by taking personal responsibility
for our success and failure. We must know that things don’t just happen.
Remember Sir Isaac Newton’s Law of motion “Every object continues in a
state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line”. Are you static in one
place? Move to action; take a personal responsibility for your life thereby
starting a uniform motion in an up line direction. Not doing something
everyday means that you are in a state of rest. Let this message serve a law
of momentum to you, an external force acting on a stationary object, forcing
it into motion.
This can be simply done by having a purpose like Henry Ford whose
purpose is to make cars for the people from best possible materials at a
reasonable price which is affordable to all men, earning average wages. Like
Andrew Carnegie, the organizer of United Steel, whose major purpose is to
make money for the first part of his life and invest it in people for the second
part of his life, which he did. What is your own purpose, your dream, your
aspiration? Make a goal out of it, break down the goal to weekly, monthly
realizable goals and start working round the clock to achieve your goal.
Never wait or complain for lack of tools, for better tools will come your way
when you effectively and efficiently use the tools that you have at hand.
Remember that many people are in your shoes, who do not have the
opportunity that you have but with the little opportunity they had they are
self reliant today. For you to be able to read this write up means that you are
literate to a level. Some can neither read nor write but they have millions of
money at their disposal. With your own more than twenty years plus of
education you are still a weakling, needing help from your parents who have
fend for you for so long. It is time to severe that tie and launch into the
world by taking personal control and charge of your life.

Book Recommendation By Dare KingWax
Hi, it's dare again! I call myself the great KINGwax. Just 3months ago
i discovered that it pays well to steal a book from a vault than gold.
And that formidable act, just did in february. It's not that i
actually stole the book as written, but i took it at first, without my
bosses permission. And when after finishing reading it, i told him i
took a book from his car and I'll like to have it returned. To my
surprise, he only replied, "what book? How does it look like?". I
described the book and told him the author but the response was still
negative, so i kept it!( i know it's bad but...)
The author is Myles Monroe. He's a founder and Pastor of bahamas faith
ministries international. The title is " releasing your potentials ".
As much as the book emphasized on self reliance with the claim that
God has given everyone a kind of gift that will ensure the survival
against poverty and slavery, it also made us understand that we must
connect our self onto God, our only source. Pray to Him for guidance
and He'll ensure our success. And most importantly, it refutes the
act of going to the devil or doing the dishonest in order to make it.
That was why i loved a quote from that book; 'you can't expect God to
fix you if you are going to satan for repair'.
There are lots to learn. I think I'll need to steal one!
Oops! Don't! Cos if you steal, you are definitely against God. It's
cheap. I found out it's just #600. Stay blessed and thanks.

The Purpose of Our Lifes
What a great weekend we had. have you bother to ask yourself why are you here on this planet Earth?. What is the purpose of your existence. is it to marry, have children raise them and die. Is it to wake up in the morning rush out to the office come back late in the night day in day out, week in week out, month in month out, year in year out.
Class, if you have not ponder this question in your heart, it is high time you sit down. Think very well and come up with a reasonable answer on why you are here. That should be the basis of our education in the first instance and parent have a long way to go in identifying their children gifting and help mold them in the direction of their gifting so that they can flow and bless their generation with their gift.
Emerson will still guide us today and what does he have to say about our purpose:
“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, honorable, to be compassionate,
to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well… To know that even one
life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”

You can find your purpose by being useful in some way or the other to the society where you live, to the people in your surrounding,to your nation by becoming valuable to the world with the gifting that you possess. Look deep into your being and come out with a gift, can you teach as I am doing please do it, Can you compose a song, or write a hymn, please go a head do so. Can you mix flower differently and come up with a great recipe please go a head, can you go to the nearest hospital and touch the sick with compassion please go head.
You don't need capital for all these all you need is passion to leave our world better than the way you find it. leave our world better than we find it. Do you know the following people leave the world better than they find it:
Mother Theresa She does not have any money, she does not have any power she just love street people of India. She left Scotland and spend the rest of her life in India. She lived, dined, with the poor of India.
Martin Luther King Jr The guy is just an ordinary Pastor of a local Baptist Church, but discovering that he is has the gift of speech he used it to liberate whole oppressed black American from the shackle of segregation. The guy has a dream that one day on the red clay of Georgia the children of the black and white will play together Today we have a BLACK man in a WHITE house.
Chief Obafemi Awolowo this man had a gift of leadership and today the Western part of Nigeria will alway relish is legacies in The First Indigenous university in Nigeria, the first TV station inn Africa, The first twenty five stories building in Nigeria and so many first.
Friends what are you going to give to our world. We are waiting for your gift. Because you live some other people must better for it. We are still reading Emerson Book, Self Reliance and it is available free of charge from:
